As you enjoy your 3-course meal, a murder mystery will unfold around you as you eat. Your challenge is to identify the murderer! There will be hijinks and hilarity as the night progresses. This being an Optimist Club event, there will also be door prizes and a 50-50. For this bewitching month, costumes are highly encouraged, and there's a captivating prize for the best dressed! The St. Catharines POETRY SLAM is a monthly showdown of competitive spoken word artistry, and October's event is set to be truly magical.
Rules? What rules? This is an anything-goes slam! That means your time on stage is your own to do as you please! Well, there are some limits but most things are good to go! Bring along your guitar, accordion, or anything else that strikes your fancy! Recite a poem by a poet you love! Perform a soliloquy from your favourite play! The possibilities are endless! We plan for a two-round slam, but the round structure could be changed at the slam depending on how many poets we have. Poets looking to compete, be prepared with three poems. Every slam will be at least two rounds, with the possibility of a third. Don't leave the ruckus at home, bring it to the stage!

The venue has both an accessible entrance and restrooms for folks to use during the event. We also have a stage ramp so all performers can access the stage.
