The Parrotheads Trivia Night for CommunityCrew.Ca October 13 (7PM).
The Parrotheads in Niagara South are hosting the second annual trivia night in support of Community Crew (communitycrew.ca) this Friday, October 13th at the Merritton Legion in St. Catharines from 7 pm. The cost is $25 per ticket with all proceeds going to this most worthy cause! This local charity provides over 4,000 weekly free lunches and support to Niagara elementary school children who would go without help from this wonderful organization. Dave Merheje is considered to be one of the most original standup voices on the comedy scene today. His multiple award-winning act has gained a loyal following across North America with his “no fear” approach on stage and a comedy style best described as aggressive in-your-face funny. Dave had his first comedy special air in Australia on ABC2. His second special “Good Friend Bad Grammar“ won the 2019 Juno Award for Comedy Album of the year. His third special “Beautifully Manic,” can be seen on Netflix as part of Comedians of the World, and his fourth special titled “I Love You Habibi” recently premiered on Crave TV this summer.

Martha Chaves is an award-winning comedian, writer, and actor whose career spans over two decades. Now Magazine described her as "smart, sassy, provocative, and very funny." Martha has appeared multiple times at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and the We Are Funny That Way Festival, to name a few. Martha describes herself as the "most famous Nicaraguan-Canadian LGBTQ+ stand-up comedian in the world," but despite being an act of such a unique nature, she’s hilariously relatable, universally funny and accessible. She tours from coast-to-coast as a headliner for Yuk-Yuks (Canada’s premiere chain of comedy clubs) and is also in high demand for corporate performances, conferences, and speaking engagements. She can frequently be heard on CBC's The Debaters and Laugh Out Loud.
She is a regular panellist on the popular CBC show Because News. Martha also starred in two TV specials which were broadcast nationally: Comics! on CBC and Something About Martha on CTV and the Comedy Network. Martha was named 2018's Stand-up Comic of the Year by the Canadian Comedy Awards after being nominated seven years in a row, and her CD CHUNKY SALSA was included in a list of 2019's best comedy records. During the pandemic, she created a multi-media piece Living 'La Covida Loca, which premiered online at The Hillside Festival. Be sure to arrive early, as it's first come, first served, and quantities are limited. Each family is eligible for one pumpkin.
